  After being a customer of Sears for 30 years, primarily for their appliance warranties, I had recently experienced a dryer problem. The Sears warranty people said they could get their repair people out in 10 days..Unbelievable..Then I had our 10 year refrigerator go out shortly thereafter. The Sears warranty repair said it would be 2 weeks for the refrigerator. The dryer was repaired by a local appliance repair company in a matter of hours. The refrigerator which had a lengthy repair record was never repaired due to my impatience and need to feed my family. I requested all warranty monies be returned to me. Sears obliged without apology or recognition of bad service. In my opinion,their warranty is a joke and a bad contract for the customer. Reids was able to sell a top of the line double french door refrigerator at a much better price than the box stores. The service and salesman were knowledgeable and experienced (ours had left Sears 6 years ago) and a delight to deal with. Might as well pay for good local appliance repair people than go through the expensive scare tactics of the box store warranty sale! .......Good for the small business which prides itself on service AND price!!!
